Melbourne Victory Football Club renews commitment to responsible gambling charter
Melbourne Victory Football Club were one of the first elite sporting clubs to sign the Responsible Gambling Charter back in 2013. The club were trailblazers, recognising that betting had fundamentally changed the way fans were experiencing sport and taking the admirable step to forgo sponsorships with sports betting providers.
We are delighted to renew our partnership with Melbourne Victory for a further two years. The club is passionate about promoting responsible gambling and reigniting their fans love of the game. It doesn’t stop with fans, Victory are also committed to counter the growing culture of gambling in sport by ensuring players are well educated and informed about the risks of developing gambling problems.
This season they'll be working with the Foundation to reduce the level of sports betting advertising young people are seeing through sport and remind the community to 'Love the Game, not the Odds'. We’re proud to stand side by side with Victory for another season and wish them the best of luck in their opening round clash tomorrow night.
The Foundation is working with more than 160 clubs across the state at both the elite and local sporting level to reduce the exposure young people have to sports betting advertising.
