Melbourne Victory and Cricket Victoria still love the game

The Foundation is pleased to announce that Melbourne Victory and Cricket Victoria have re-signed with the Love the Game Sporting Club Program, which means they will continue working with us to reduce the amount of gambling promotions to which young people are exposed, including by saying no to sports betting sponsorships.

Melbourne Victory has signed on for three seasons, until June 2022. The partnership, which began in 2011, is expected to maintain and extend the positive impact it’s had on the community, including through digital promotions, stadium signage, event activations and match day activities.

Cricket Victoria’s contract will run for the next two seasons, until May 2021. Our partnership includes relationships with Big Bash League teams, Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades. We will also work with grassroots cricket clubs to increase community engagement in the program.

Love the Game elite sporting partners include Victoria’s 10 AFL clubs, Melbourne Rebels, and state sporting bodies such as AFL Victoria and Football Victoria.

In addition, the program is supported by more than 400 local Victorian sporting clubs. They too have committed to saying no to sports betting sponsorships, and to focusing on gambling harm prevention among young Victorians.

We look forward to a terrific summer of family friendly sport that – through these partnerships – will offer young people the opportunity to love the game without being distracted by the odds.
