Commission publishes community benefit statement figures for 2014–2015

The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation recently published a combined community benefit statement for Victoria and a summary of figures for each local government area.

Club venue operators must submit an audited community benefit statement with the commission for each financial year they receive gaming machine revenue. The statement verifies the community benefit provided equals at least 8.33 per cent of its net gaming machine revenue.

Community benefit statement for Victoria

In 2014–2015, a total of 243 clubs lodged community benefit statements. The net gaming revenue for this period was $865,873,658.

Although clubs are required to provide at least 8.33 per cent of their net gaming revenue to the community as a benefit, the percentage of net gaming revenue claimed for community purposes in 2014–2015 was 33.17 per cent.
