Commission refuses application for pokies at Castello's Clyde North Hotel
On 3-5 March 2020, the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation heard an application by Castello Daisey's Hotel Pty Ltd to install 100 pokies at Castello's Clyde North Hotel.
The City of Casey opposed the application and appeared at the hearing.
On 6 April 2020, the commission refused the application.
After considering the material before it, the commission was not satisfied that the social and economic impact of the application would not be detrimental to the wellbeing of the City of Casey community. Accordingly, the 'no net detriment' test was not met and the application was refused.
