Victorians lose $2.609 billion on pokies in 2016–2017

On 28 July 2017, the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation released figures on pokies expenditure for the 2016–2017 financial year.

In total, $2.609 billion was lost in Victoria at the pokies between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2017. This is a decrease of around $7 million, 0.27 per cent, from pokies losses in 2015–2016.

Expenditure figures are available for each local government area, as well as for each of the 497 clubs and hotels operating pokies.
